THE Red and Green teams beat their respective rivals to post their second straight wins in the resumption Sunday of the 2nd Ateneo de Davao University Grade School Community Association (Agsca) Daddy's Cup Basketball Tournament at the Fr. Martinez Sports Center basketball courts at the Ateneo Grade School Matina campus.
Reigning champion Red, led by playing manager Alex Almario of BLBE Auto
Repair Shop, routed Black dribblers, 86-67, behind the heroics of Dennis Aquino who poured in 28 baskets. The win came on the heels of beating Yellow, 82-67, in the Oct. 25 opener.
The Green squad, for its part, leaned on Noy Pido who sank 25 points to demolish Brown, 88-67, following a 97-62 win over Jun Magnaye's Gray team.
Team Yellow, meanwhile, bounced back by beating White, 77-72, as James Aljibe made 25 points in the tournament organized to promote the spirit of competition, friendship and respect among father-participants and their families.
The Orange team, which suffered a 78-81 loss to Brown in the first game, recovered by thrashing Blue, 76-54, with Donato Pacheco, who accounted for 12, as top scorer.
Thus, the Red and Green teams led the current team standings with identical clean 2-0 slate followed by 1-0 Maroon in third. White, Brown, Orange and Yellow toted 1-1 card each while 0-1 Gray, 0-2 Blue and 0-2 Black shared the bottom.
Games will resume on Sunday. (MLSA)
