SEA Games-bound boxers seek for prayers-A A +A
Wednesday, December 4, 2013
NATIONAL athletes sought for prayers from fellow Filipinos as they left on Wednesday to compete in the 27th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Myanmar that will officially open on December 11.
Advance matches, however, will be conducted in a few sports days before the opening ceremonies of the biennial meet.
China Open 2013 champion Nesthy Alcayde Petecio, who was silver medalist in the 2011 Games in Indonesia, wrote on her Facebook wall: "Philippine boxing team going to Myanmar napo. Suportahan niyo kami. Need your prayer po. Salamat!"
The Davao del Sur native earlier posted that they are competing not for themselves but for the country.
Saludar joined the national team after his sterling performances as a mainstay of the Brgy. Una Boxing Team of Davao del Norte. (MLSA)
