250 expected in CGD Cup 2013 shooting tournament-A A +A

SOME 250 participants are expected to join the Marco Polo Davao's Carlos G. Dominguez (CGD) cup 2013 shooting competition set to fire off on Dec. 14 at the Team Shooting Range along Diversion Road in Maa.
Marco Polo Hotel director of security Col. Arnold Comoda, guesting in Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at NCCC Mall B3 Center yesterday, said Davao shooters will be joined by those coming from North Cotabato and General Santos City.
"There were players from Bicol Region who joined us last year. They may be competing again in this upcoming event being organized as part of the 15th anniversary celebration of Marco Polo Hotel," Comoda said.
He also said corporate shooters from Davao Light and Power Co., Alsons and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company also confirmed to participate.
The shootfest features pistol, shotgun and mini rifle events in standard, classic and production division. The top seven shooters in each division will receive trophies and other prizes.
He added, "This event aims to promote responsible gun ownership and gun safety and foster camaraderie among shooters."
Registration fees are P600 (pistol) and P400 (mini rifle, shotgun) inclusive of lunch and a chance to win raffle prizes including one Cal. 40 Glock Pistol.
Marco Polo Hotel also held a fun ride and fun run where proceeds were donated to victims of Typhoon Yolanda. (MLSA)
