SOS bags 3 junior rugby football titles-A A +A

THE SOS Children's Village clinched three titles at the close of the 1st1st Davao City Juniors Rugby Tournament finals held in two venues over the weekend.
The SOS Apo topped the boys under-14 division besting Foundation of Balay Pasilungan (FBP)-Pelayo and FBP Quimpo that placed second and third, respectively.
SOS Apo's Elven Flores and Roscoe Hans Rivero were named co-most valuable player along with Christian Pandili of FBP Pelayo.
In girls under-18 SOS Walingwaling defeated SOS Marang in their best-of-three game championship. Joy dela Torre of SOS Walingwaling, however, was named most valuable player (MVP).
SOS 2, for its part, also emerged champion in girls U14 by beating SOS 1 in their best-of-three finals behind MVP Jessa Malate in the match held at the SOS Children's Village Davao grounds.
The Davao City Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Drug Dependents (DCTRCDD) Pangil, meanwhile, ruled the boys U18 over SOS Agilas that settled for the runner-up honors in the finals held at DCTRCDD in Bago Oshiro, Mintal.
FBP-Datu Bago finished third in the category where John Carlo Luna of SOS Durian and Judel Buisan of FBP Datu Bago shared MVP honors.
Winners received medals and certificates from the organizers of the event backed up by the Davao Durians Rugby Football Club, DHL, Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO), Philippine Rugby Football Union, Potbellied Pigs RFC of Hong Kong and SOS Children's Villages Philippines-Davao.
