Green Crusaders top IBP Palaro-A A +A

THE Green Crusaders bagged the over-all championship of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Palaro 2013 that concluded Sunday at the Hall of Justice covered court.
Green, headed by lawyers Rogelio Largo and Edipolo Sarabia, amassed atotal of 812 points while the Yellow All-Stars, led by lawyers Jaime Lopoz, Jr. and Diosdado Angelo Mahipus, garnered 682.5 points to settle for the runner-up honors instead.
The Red Administrators, managed by lawyers Santos Torreña, Jr. and Melchor Quitain Sr., came third with 675 points while the Blue Rebels, under lawyers Ferdinand Taglucop and Ramon Edison Batacan, made 662.5 points for the fourth spot.
The Green Crusaders swept the badminton, funrun, volleyball, basketball and darts events even as the Yellow All-Stars topped golf and tennis.
The Red Administrators, for their part, ruled bowling, chess and shooting while the Blue Rebels governed 9-ball billiards competition.
IBP Davao staff Cecille Fernandez, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said the weeklong sportsfest was initiated by IBP Davao chapter president lawyer Jose Edgar Ilagan to promote fun and fellowship among IBP members before the year ends.
A total of 1,152 IBP Davao members saw action in 11 sports entered in the annual meet.
Winners received customized medals from the organizers during the awarding ceremony-cum-Christmas party.
