PREPARATIONS shift to high gear for the staging of the Davao City Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Meet on Jan. 17 to 19 in a still undetermined venue.
Davao City and Davao Region Prisaa executive director Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia bared this during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at Calle Cinco Restobar along J. P. Laurel Avenue yesterday.
He said details will be finalized on Dec. 27.
Sarabia, however, said Prisaa-Davao is all set to host the National Collegiate Games slated April 6 to 12, 2014 at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City.
"We have been preparing for this big event since last year as the national Prisaa board had already conducted inspection on the sports facilities in Tagum. This is the first time that Region 11 will host the Prisaa national games and we are glad that the government officials of Davao Del Norte are very supportive with our preparations,” he said.
He said some 6,500 athletes, coaches and officials will compete in the annual Games for collegiate athletes.
He also said two hotels in Tagum City were already booked for the Prisaa national games and 20 schools within Tagum City were tapped as locations for the athletes to stay. (MDC)
