Ateneo teams set to show wares in 2014 Rifa Cup

ATENEO de Davao University will send five teams to the Rifa Cup 2014 that will kick off on January 25 and 26 at the Collegio de San Agustin, Dasmariñas Village, Makati City.

Ateneo will compete in under-13 girls, under-11 girls, under-eight boys, under-15 girls and under-17 girls categories in the annual football tournament that will be participated by schools in key cities of the country.

Coach Reynalyn Ranada Ravanes, in a Facebook chat interview on Friday, said her under-11 and under-13 girls teams have long been preparing for the competition.

The girls under-11 team is composed of Denise R. Diamante, Ysabel Aquino, Yunika Angala, Lianne Co, Kyana Dimaandal, Melanie Pamisa, Julianna Taojo, Luisa Uy, JC Agustin and Julien Mirto.

Diamante, Aquino, Angala, Co, Dimaandal, Taojo, Uy, Mirto will also see action in girls under-11 along with Rizalene Francisco, Leara Varquez, Patricia Francisco and Melanie Pamisa.

Ravanes said the U-11 games will be held on the first day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. while the U-13 matches are set the following day at the same time. (MLSA)
