MUKTAN Amsirabi, Roy Amsirabi and Eric Engracia emerged champion in the 16-team 1st Dover Memorial Tatlohan 2014 held Friday night at Mega Dover Lanes.

They hit a total of 1,091 pinfalls to receive the top prize of P 5,000.

The team of Peter Morales, Aksan Amsirabi and Johan Alonzo totaled 1,071 pinfalls to grab the runner-up prize of P3,000 while Berting Gorgonio, Anil Aluyan and Noli Bae combined forces to garner 1,051 to pocket the third place prize of P 2,000.

Engracia, who scored 151, also clinched the highest individual single title.

In an interview with Sun.Star Davao, Friday Bowlers Club of Metro Davao Bowlers Association-Philippine Duckpin Bowlers Council (MDBA-PHIDBC) public relations officer (PRO) Onyot Morales said the turnout of entries showed that players have returned to the sport.

“There was a big development and MDBA-PHIDBC is glad to have gathered quite a huge number of competing teams despite some problems,” he said.

Morales said that the memorial open tournament will resume in April.

“We are happy to announce that we will have a lot of bowling tournaments lined-up for this year and that it will definitely revive duckpin bowling in the city,” he said.

The 1st Dover Tailoring Cup will be held on Feb. 28 while the Dover Fitness Gym Cup will open in March.

MDBC-PHIDBC will also host the 4th MDBA National Invitational Bowling Tournament 2014 slated March 11 to 16 in celebration of the 77th Araw ng Dabaw Festival.
