GRAY and White teams set up a semi-finals clash after beating their respective rivals in the recent resumption of the 2nd Ateneo de Davao University Grade School Community Association (Agsca) Daddy's Cup Basketball Tournament.
Gray dribblers defeated Brown, 81-77, while White crushed Maroon, 86-54, in the league organized to foster camaraderie among parents of Ateneo students.
Gray and White, thus, improved to a similar 6-3, win-loss record to forge a three-way tie with Brown squad. The latter, however, occupied the fourth spot while Gray and White took the second and third spot, respectively, via the quotient system.
Green grabbed the top spot with an 8-1 card.
The semis round will kick off on Sunday with Green, led by Noy Pido and Bobot Castro, colliding with Leo Ylagan-led Brown in the first game. Green will have a twice-to-beat advantage.
The other semis match pits Jun Magnaye-led Gray, which will also have a twice-to-beat advantage, against the White team of Mark Fuentes.
The finals is set on Feb. 15.
Defending champion Red bowed out of contention, finishing with a 5-4 mark along with Maroon. Others that also failed to advance were 4-5 Yellow, 4-5 Orange, 1-8 Black and 0-9 Blue. (MLSA)
