SOME 1,500 runners will answer the starting gun as the Run for City High kicks off at 5 a.m. on Feb. 16 in an out-and-back course from the Davao City National High School.
The event, initiated by DCNHS Batch 89, will benefit the reconstruction of DCNHS pathway.
In the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at NCCC Mall Bowling, Billiards and Bar (B3) Center Lanes, batch 89 president Darrius Kenny said that DCNHS needs help when it comes to the reconstruction of their buildings and other infrastructure.
“The pathway is very important for the students especially when transferring from one classroom to another. Whenever it rains, the students get wet because of the damaged roofs,” he said.
The run for a cause features three-kilometer, 5K and 10K categories that offer cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
Registration fee is P 300 inclusive of singlet, merienda and a raffle entry. Forms are available at Adidas Gaisano Mall of Davao and DCNHS sports office.
The run, which is in cooperation with Vantage Sports Promotions, is a way of giving back to DCNHS.
Some proceeds from the run will be used for the preparation of the grand alumni homecoming set in December this year. (MDC)
