THE Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) President's Cup will roll off on February 22 at the Fairlanes Bowling Center.

Newly-elected president Joe Torres, who was a guest at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at NCCC Mall B3 on Thursday, said some 20 teams will play in the five-team competition that offers cash prizes to the winners.

"It will be a five-game elimination series where the top four teams will play the step-the ladder championship round," Torres said.

The champion will receive P8,000 while the runner-up will pocket P6,000 and the next two placers will go home with P4,000 and P3,000.

Torres said, "The President's Cup will serve as tune-up for the Araw ng Dabaw tournament. It will give more exposure for teams who will be joining the annual Araw competition."

He added that they are inviting other bowling groups to join their events as everybody who is an enthusiast of duckpin bowling is welcome.

The new set of SBC officers will be inducted at Torres' residence on Saturday. (MLSA)
