Dachea bowling draws 34 teams

SOME 34 teams are seeing action in the Dachea Bowling Tournament that opened Monday afternoon at the Mega Dover Lanes.

The bowlfest, organized by the Davao City Hall Employees Association (Dachea) as part of the 77th Araw ng Dabaw Festival, is being held in coordination with a local national sports association (NSA).

Dachea chapter chairperson Ricky Perez said that the tournament is open to all Davao City government employees regardless of their positions.
Perez said that games will be played on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until March 7.

He said in the vernacular that each is team is composed of six players.
He said that 18 games will be played in the elimination round based on total pinfalls. Winners will be determined on accumulated scores after the elimination series.

"Players with the top 25 scores based on their average in at least 10 games will qualify for the masters round," he said.

Prizes will be awarded to the individual winners, highest team single, highest team double, highest individual single and double, highest pinning, highest average, master champion and runners-up.

In last year’s tournament, the highest individual champions were from the City Engineer's Office (men) and City Treasurer's Office (women).
