THE 9th Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) Araw ng Dabaw Classic Tenpin Open Tournament will roll off on Wednesday to Sunday at the NCCC Mall B3 Center lanes.

The Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC)-sanctioned tournament is open to all registered members of PBC.

In an email sent to Sun.Star Davao, Datba PRO Joshua Disuacido said each bowler will play two sets of three games to qualify for the master's event. Any participant may play multiple entries to come up with the best qualifying result.

He said that the seeded bowler or last year’s open tournament champion is required to play the qualifying event in order to be qualified for the masters’ finals.

“The masters event is composed of the top 35 qualifiers and the seeded bowler. They will all play eight games,” he said.

The top qualifier will receive P 3,000 cash while the next two placers will take home P2,000 and P1,000.

The masters champion, meanwhile, will win the P50,000 top purse while the runner-up will settle for P20,000. Cash prizes of P10,000, P5,000 and P 3,000 await the third, fourth and fifth placers, respectively. The sixth to eighth placers will pocket P2,000 each.

Registration is pegged at P 2, 500 in the qualifying while P 2,000 for the masters event.
