Diagold bags Daciba ‘Araw’ bowling crown

TEAM Diagold emerged champion in the Mayor Rody Duterte and Vice Mayor Pulong Duterte 77th Araw ng Dabaw Sports Festival Open Bowling Tournament that came to a close Wednesday evening at Dover Mega Lanes.

Diagold, composed of Jojo Gonzaga, Jayvee and Nonoy Baluyot, Rex Barros and Eddie Sagario, defeated Team Asean in the step-the-ladder finals to take home the champion’s prize of P 6,000 in the event organized by the Davao City Bowlers Association (Daciba).

Asean, which settled for P4,000, was bannered by Ipet Chua, Boy Yu, Ivo and Jet Isturis, Danny and K-King Orilla.

Third-placer Homer 1's Muktan and Roy Amsirabi, Arnel Crudo, Eric Engracia and Alex Alanunay received P3,000 while Jerry Parin, Helen Pugoy, Mercy del Mar, Mai-Mai Iborda and Dolly Pobeles of JRE and Company landed fourth with P2,000.

In the eliminations, Diagold rolled a total of 4,134 pins after seven games to grab the twice-to-beat advantage in the finals.

Wounding up in the next three spots were Homer 1 (4,114), JRE and Company (4,110) and Asean (4,070).

Trophies and medals were also awarded to the winners of the bowlfest held as part of the City Government of Davao-funded Araw ng Dabaw Sportsfest.

The Dover, MDBA, Homer 2, DCWD, Torres, D Who Karspa, BEES, K of C, PJAC, Jonzlibz, MG Bowlers, Team Gani, SMA Bowlers, Tempora, Vetmix and City Government also competed in the tournament.
