Asor tops damafest

DANIEL Asor of Digos City and Nathaniel Empalmado of Davao City ruled their respective divisions as the Mayor Rody and Vice Mayor Pulong Duterte 77th Araw ng Dabaw Sports Festival Dama Tournament closed at Osmeña Park over the weekend.

Asor beat Edwin Cabalquinito of Panacan in class A as the latter settled for the runner-up honors. Roy Nulada and Joseph Repuncion of Panabo City placed third and fourth, respectively.

Empalmado, meanwhile, topped class B over Luciano Lamoste who came second. The next two spots went to Ronnie Echavia and Wary Macapundag.
The winners received cash prizes from the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO).

Some 70 dama players from the region participated in the event organized by the Davao City Dama Association Inc. (DCDAI) under its president Magdaleno Calunsag. (MDC)
