Wakeboarding, beach volley set in Pantukan

WAKEBOARDING clinic, women’s beach volleyball competition and Frisbee tournament spiced up by a beach party will be showcased in the Musikahan sa Tagum Foundation (MSTF) presents Destination Summer 2014 set April 11 to 13 at Magnana Water Beach Resort, Pantukan, Compostela Valley Province.

Ciara Uy of MSTF, during yesterday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at NCCC Mall Davao B3 Center, said: “This will be the first time that Pantukan will have an outdoor electronic dance music festival with Philippine’s famous club disc jockeys’ such as DJ Jet Boado, DJ X-Factor, DJ Cholo, DJ Jack Ripper, DJ Kevin Rage and DJ RMZ. All partygoers just have to pay P300 to join the ultimate beach weekend party,” Uy said.

She said that the three-day beach weekend event will not just bring in the partygoers all over Southern Mindanao but at the same time reach out to all sports enthusiasts who are into wakeboarding, volleyball and frisbee.

“The wakeboarding clinic will be spearheaded by Double Wakeboards rider and wakeboard specialist Carlo “C-lo” Dela Torre who has been into wakeboarding since 1994. Wakeboard sessions will be at P500 for two hours,” she said.

She said that the Frisbee competition meanwhile will be joined by eight teams from Tagum City, Davao City, Comval and neighboring areas. Each team shall have 10 members. Winners will receive prizes from Phoenix Petroleum Philippines and Davao Metro Shuttle.”

In women’s beach volleyball, 10 different schools from the region confirmed their participation. At stake are P15,000 for the champion team, P10,000 for the second placer and P7,500 for third and P5,000 for fourth.

Registration for beach volleyball or frisbee competition is P250 per head. (MDC)
