SULTAN Kudarat netter Mark Alfred Directo is playing for two titles after booking tickets to the finals of the boys 12-under and 14-under events of the ongoing first leg of the 16th Head Graphene Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit at Toril Tennis Club courts in Davao City on Thursday.

Top-seeded Directo lived up to his billing by beating Abdul Hanan Cariga, 6-4, 6-3, in the boys 12-under semi-finals to set up a titular clash against Jorez Pantuhan who escaped past Andre Kenny Sing, 7-5, 7-5.

In boys 14-under, second-seeded Directo survived past Jyle Cyrin Martinez, 3-6, 6-2, 11-9, to collide with Janus Ringia, a 6-2, 6-2, victor over Kyle Macaraeg.

Davao City bets Joel Cabusas and John Jeric Accion arranged a championship match in boys 18-under. Top-seeded Cabusas ousted Mikko Ringia, 6-2, 6-3 while second-seeded Accion bested Regan Sorima, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8.

Shaira Hope Rivera overcame Rosvel Anne Birondo, 6-4, 3-6, 10-8, in girls 18-under while Christian Fel Lopez of the Island Garden City of Samal eliminated Janus Ringia, 6-2, 6-3, to meet Jaffary Cariga, a 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 winner over Justin Guira, in boys 16-under finals.

In girls 14-under, Jessica Mae Carcueva booted out Coleen Carvajal, 6-2, 6-2, to face April Bentillo for the crown. The latter spanked Ma. Angelica Novis, 6-3, 6-4, in the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta)-sanctioned meet.

Matches were still going on as of Friday.

Next stop of the tour will be in General Santos City on April 6 to 10. It is organized by Dynamic Sports Corporation and presented by Chris Sports, Smart, Toalson and Head powered by Head Graphene.
