Black Mace Security futsal summer league opens at SM-A A +A

TEN teams in Southern Mindanao gathered as the Black Mace Security Futsal Summer League 2014 was launched Friday night at SM Lanang Premier, Parking C.
Teams Golden Dragon, 79ers, United Nations, Ultras Beta, Rizal Memorial Colleges, Pit Bulls, Hooligans, Boca Seniors and Ultras Alpha will compete in the month-long futsal event from April 4 to May 4 at 6:30 p.m. onwards.
In an interview with Sun.Star Davao, sports coordinator Thomas Cirineo said that all 10 teams will compete against each other in games scheduled every Friday to Sunday.
He said that the league, which is an initiative of SM Lanang Premier, Maharlika Sports Development Institute Inc., Anthony Sasin Futsal League (ASFL) and Sun.Star Davao, aims to enhance the youth involvement in the sport and be able to develop their skills through the program.
“Aside from this league, we will plan to have a women’s futsal league in the future and be able to invite more teams to venture into the sport,” he said.
He also said that a futsal summit will be conducted this year for the launch of the Liga Bata 2014.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO) while two University of Mindanao Women’s Futsal played exhibition games.
