TAGUM - The Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) supports the plan of the Province of Davao Del Norte in its bid to host the 2015 Palarong Pambansa, during the PRISAA 2014 National Games press conference at Big 8 Corporate Hotel, National Highway, Tagum City.

National PRISAA Chairman Dr. Emmanuel Angeles said that Davao Del Norte with its Sports and Tourism Complex has the capacity to hold Palarong Pambansa 2015.

“I do not promise anything but I will talk to education secretary Armin Luistro and tell him that they will have no mistakes in bringing Palarong Pambansa in Mindanao especially here in Davao Del Norte,” Angeles said.
Angeles lauded the efforts of Davao Del Norte governor Rodolfo Del Rosario for creating a sports complex in Region XI.

“Davao Del Norte is lucky to have Governor Del Rosario because for more than 25 years in the service, I have never seen a governor who has well-detailed plans for its province. It is seldom in most provinces of the country that a public official will make clear plans for the sports industry,” he said.

He also urged Governor Del Rosario to address in the league of governors, the importance of having a sports complex.

“There is really a need to put up a sports complex in all areas of the country to help our athletes and coaches. In fact we are coordinating with the embassies of China, Korea and Japan to help us train our athletes and coaches so that in due time we will be able to produce Olympians,” he said.

Governor Del Rosario meanwhile expressed his gratitude to all the people who have been supportive in their plans to host the 2015 Palarong Pambansa.

“We hope that through the success of the PRISAA 2014 National Games, we will be able to attract the national authorities. We are ready to host any games and we are thankful for the appreciation that we are getting from visitors who see the province as an instant favorite sports tourism capital in Mindanao,” Del Rosario said.

More than 5,000 athletes and officials from the 17 regions of the country participated in the grand opening of the biggest conclave for college students, PRISAA National Collegiate Games 2014 with PRISAA National President Ma. Lita Montalban, Philippine Sports Commission chairman Ricardo Garcia and Tagum City mayor Allan Rellon.
