Frisbee nat'l tourney set May 2-4

A TOTAL of 36 teams will vie for honors in the Daba-Daba Ika-Upat Frisbee National Competition slated May 2 to 4 at Tionko Football Grounds, Quimpo Boulevard as part of the Davao City Summer Sports for Peace Festival.

Organizing staff Khyrrah Tuvilla said that 36 teams have confirmed their participation in the mixed division title from Pool A to Pool E (expert-beginners).

“We only have mixed division for this year unlike in the previous year where we had men and women divisions, respectively,” she said.

The Davao City’s Davao Disc Squad, D’Animers, Yamah Ultimate, Pobre, Ultimate Mad Monkeys, South Side Guerillas, Ultimate Disc-Able and Mulatto Davao along with Go Hitch Go (Mati City), Panabo Ultimate, UFO Eskwaters Digos, Barefoot Ultimate Sta. Cruz Davao Del Sur confirmed to compete as well as teams from Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro City, Cotabato, General Santos and Iligan: Kute Ultimaniacs of Kabacan, Malaybalay’s Ultimate Kwangolz Rebolusyon, Lumad, Maut, Uval, Evut, Pangit, Ulam, Blitzkrieg, LUFT, Slydogs Butuan, PUK Polomolok, Generals Ultimate, Galawgao, Ultimate Nicknames Koronadal, UGA Iligan, Messkit Utimate, Ultimo Trip of Tribu, Firefly, Dagmay Ultimate, MUFC, U9600, Tacloban’s Yolanders and Disc Maniac Delegates. The latter is a crack selection of players from Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore and Davao.

She said that the top three winning teams will receive trophies while the Mythical Five will receive medals.

Special awards will be given to the Most Spirited Team, Best in Lay-Out, Most Assist, Most Blocks, Most Scores and Callahan.
