Buhangin Falcons B, SOS Blue top rugby tourney

THE Buhangin Falcons Rugby Club B and SOS Children’s Village Blue team emerged champions in their respective categories at the close of the Rugby Football Tournament held over the weekend at SOS Children’s Village Davao, J.P Laurel Avenue.

Buhangin Falcons Rugby Club B defeated BFRC A in the finals showdown, 4-3 to grab the top spot of the under 16 category while BFRC A settled for the second place.

SOS Blue placed third after beating SOS Red, 3-2 in the semi-finals while SOS Red took the 4th place.

In the under 12, SOS Blue ruled over Matina Aplaya A in the championship round, 3-2 to capture the title. Matina Aplaya A settled for second while Matina Aplaya C took the bronze medals after defeating SOS Yellow in the semis, 4-3.

All winners received medals and trophies from the event organized by the Davao Durians Rugby Football Club (DDRFC).

Special awards were given to the Most Valuable Participants who showed positive values and attitude toward their peers during the 2nd SOS Rugby Football Clinic and different sessions conducted prior to the tournament.
U12 MVPs were Jessica Mangyaw, Reylyn Geolingo, Aziah Loryn Bordon and Kian Danton while Diana Cosare, Joy dela Torre, Emman Farinas and Anthony Ronquillo for U16.

The tournament is presented by the SOS Children's Village Davao and supported by the city government of Davao, DHL, Buhangin Proper Barangay Council, Matina Aplaya 75-A Barangay Council, Meerkat Security Service, Philippine Rugby Football Union, and Pot Bellied Pigs RFC Hong Kong.
