Barangay 27-D, Agdao lead cage winners

THE Barangays 27-D, Agdao Proper and Leon Garcia led first round winners at the start of the Davao City Midnight Basketball Cup at Barangay Monteverde Agdao covered court over the weekend.

Brgy. 27-D routed brgy. 31-D, 56-40, while Agdao Proper edged Barangay 37-D, 53-51. Leon Garcia also drew first blood by whipping Barangay Tomas Monteverde, 58-43.

Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) officer-in-charge William "Butch" Ramirez along with Sta. Ana police station chief Caezar Cabuhat and barangay officials of participating teams graced the brief opening rites.

The event, presented by SDD-CMO, will award trophies and medals to the winners.

The cagefest is organized to provide a venue for less-privileged children and children in conflict with the law (CICL) to compete as part of the Davao City Summer Sports for Peace Festival.

Other barangays entered in the tournament are 13-B, 15-B, 21-C, 22-C, 23-C, 24-C, 25-C, 27-C, 30-C, 32-D, 33-D, Agdao Centro, Lapu-lapu, P. Bangoy and San Antonio. (MDC)
