CASH prizes were given to winners of different sports events entered in the 77th Araw ng Dabaw Sports Festival, according to an official of the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO).

SDD-CMO officer-in-charge Charles Raymond Maxey, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said some prizes were delayed but were received by the winners.

Some prizes were released late but they were still awarded. The organizers shouldered the prizes first since our office budget was not yet released. We will have yet to refund the organizers for their expenses)," Maxey said.

He said SDD-CMO is doing its best to provide all the supposed cash prizes but there were delays in processing papers at the city's accounting department.

"Everything undergoes process.

He assured that all winners of the events conducted by SDD-CMO will receive their prizes especially now that they are holding the Davao City Summer Sports for Peace Festival.

He added, "Mabibigyan lahat ng premyo. Made-delay lang dahil dadaan sa proseso."
