Mulatto 3rd in nationals-A A +A

TEAM Mulatto Davao placed third in the 3rd Philippine Ultimate Championships Nationals 2014 held over the weekend at E-Park in Tagum City.
Mulatto Davao, headed by Nelson-Cañedo, beat South Side Guerillas of Davao City, 12-7, in their battle for third after losing to Extreme Dumaguete of the Visayas, 11-12, in the semi-finals of the national Frisbee event that drew 18 teams all over the country including actor and enthusiast Derek Ramsay's team Sid Vicious.
Extreme Dumaguete emerged champion while Boracay Dragons was runner-up.
All winners received medals and trophies from the national event organized by the Philippine Ultimate Association (PUA) headed by Peng Manlapaz.
In a text message sent to Sun.Star Davao, Khyrrah Tuvilla of Mulatto Davao said that they were proud for finishing third in the tournament.
"Super proud and happy kami na this year nasa top three kami at hindi lang basta top three dahil natalo naminang defending champion sa quarter games. Parang champion narin kami," Tuvilla said.
Mulatto Davao upset two-time defending champion Sunken Pleasure of Luzon, 12-11, in the quarter-finals.
The team will compete in Malaysia on June 28 for the Malaysia Ultimate Open Tournament. "Back to our regular training muna kami this month pero pagpasok ng July, hard training na para sa international tournament," she added.
