Bodybuilding tilt underway in Mati

THE 3rd Governor's Cup Body Building Competition gets underway at 4 p.m. today at the Capitol coveted court in Mati City in celebration of the 47th Araw ng Davao Oriental.

Organizer and tournament director Roger Dalilan, in a text message sent to Sun.Star Davao, said this event is open to all body builders.

He added that he expects more or less 15 players to join the competition.

"Actually daghan mi ug giinvite para ani muapil sa event pero wala may response gikan sa ilaha so majority sa players sa gikan lang sa Mati, Tagum, ug Davao lang (Actually we invited bodybuilders from all over the island but there's no response from most of them so majority of participants are from Mati, Tagum, and Davao City)," he said.

The competition offers cash prizes of P3,000, P2,000, P1,000, P600, and P500 to the top five placers. They will also receive trophies and certificates.

Non-winners will also receive P400 and certificates as consolation prizes.

The competition is presented by Governor Corazon T. Nunez-Malanyaon with the initiative of Dalilan from the Capitol Fitness Gym.
