Hooligans win Challenge Cup

THE Hooligans Football Club (FC) emerged champion in the just-concluded Philippine Sports Commission-Davao Football Association (PSC-DFA) Challenge Cup 2014 at the Tionko field.

Hooligans, which hacked out a rousing 6-2 win over Philippine College of Technology (PCT)-Medvil in the last day of competition, garnered a total of 15 points with a total of five wins, zero draw and one loss.

Allan Ray Fernandez sizzled with a hat trick in the 11th, 23rd and 39th minutes to lead Hooligans' scoring. Mark Anthony Bugay added two goals as JerardBieneza and Rocky Custodio netted one goal each.

PCT-Medvil'sJomarAcedo, meanwhile, secured two goals in the 58th and 89th minutes.

Columbia FC earned 12 points following four wins, zero draw and two losses to place second while PCT-Medvil (six points) was third with two wins, zero draw and four losses and KMMPC (3) was at the bottom of the team standings with one win, zero draw and five losses.

KMMPC blanked Columbia, 1-0, behind Louis Kohendorfer's 80th winner.
PCT-Medvil team manager Juan Rudolpho Rey V. Sarenas, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said they lack practice and that their players were not prepared.
