FOURTH-RANKED Red dribblers stunned twice-to-beat No. 1 squad Yellow, 60-37, in the semi-finals of the Davao City Foursquare Gospel Church basketball tournament that resumed at Montaña Gym over the weekend.

Red guard Kobe Caballero spearheaded the onslaught with 15 points and five assists as Cristian Chuim and John Pegarro added 13 and eight points, respectively.

Junjun Noriega topscored for Yellow, sinking in 12 points and four assists while Rex Divera and Rey Lara chipped in identical 10 points.

Red and Yellow will clash in a rubber match on Sunday.

As the Yellow team struggled to get going offensively, the Reds attacked the defense in every possession and converting it to easy buckets.

Red team fueled a 10-2 run, limiting Yellow team to just two field goals at the end of the first quarter.

Despite Yellow's height advantage, Red managed to out-rebound them, 6-0, due to their hustle efforts after every missed shot and converted it to six second chance points.

Red team's tight defense limited Yellow just five points at the close of the first half, 12-28.

Yellow, however, bounced back as they managed to rotate the ball in the paint resulting two points from layups and free-throws.

Team Red accumulated seven fouls in the early going of the third period, allowing the Yellow cagers to trim the gap by just seven points.

Yellow's surge was stopped in the final period as the Reds rallied and poured in 30 baskets as against the former's 12.

Meanwhile, Purple clobbered Blue, 62-49.

Semis round will resume on Sunday.
