Sakya, SOS FC win third straight

HIGHLY-touted Sakya Football Club and SOS Football Club (FC) secured convincing wins against their respective rivals to extend win-streak to three as the She Futsal League resumed Sunday at the SM Lanang Premier Parking Lot C.

Sakya FC toyed with Ateneo B, 26-0, behind the goals of Nikita Yee, Paula Elises, Jasper Joy Cabisong, Zulieka Yee, Sofia Paredes and Moira Calizo.

Former Malditas National Team player Merlo Albano, who scored one goal in Sunday night's game, told Sun.Star Davao that she gave the spotlight to her teammates.

"Tan-aw nako na dili man kaayo kusog ang kalaban so sila ang akong gipadala sa game kay para machallenge sila (I allowed my teammates to take charge of the game as our opponent was not really that strong)," Albano said.

With the loss, Ateneo B retains the bottom spot of the team standings with three straight losses.

SOS FC replicated another strong outing as they overwhelmed Ateneo A, 32-0 in the bootfest organized by Maharlika Sports Development Institute, Inc. in partnership with Sun.Star Davao.

So King Cheng Sports outstanding female athlete in football Agot Danton sparked the team's win with 14 goals. Joy Semacio and Gloria Rama added 10 goals and five goals, respectively, to help lift SOS's victory.

Meanwhile, DDS Khanj edged Ateneo Mix, 4-3, as Punta del Sol crushed University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao, 5-1.
Games will resume on Friday. (KRP)
