Diaz, Ricarse clinch MDSAI titles

LARRY Diaz and Evan Ricarse topped their respective categories at the close of the MDSAI 6th Anniversary Shoot at Camp Quintin M. Mercado Shooting Range, Police Regional Office, Catitipan, Davao City.

Seasoned Diaz captured the three star full size (FS) .45 single stock (SS) category title while Ricarse emerged champion in two star FS .45 SS event over Richard Macaraeg, Bryan Somozo and Edwin Garcia who occupied the next three places.

Dante Ledesma, for his part, clinched the three star FS .40 SS.

Melchor Tadia ruled the one star FS. 45 SS classification, besting rivals Rande Mendrico, Danny Simangan, and Arnel Orpina who wounded in the next three spots.

Dan Bagarra pocketed the two star FS .45 Hi-Cap title even as Geraldo Josol won the one star classification title of the same event.

Rex Peñaranda, on the other hand, reigned in one star Compact .45 while Lester Salinas outclassed RodelioRavela for the FS .40/9.mm crown.

Arnold Comoda and Emmanuel Mahipus grabbed the first two spots of the two star FS .40/.9mm division while Bruce Laguesma and Alain Ninora placed first and second, respectively, in the Compact .40/.9mm.

Stan Kyle Oh bagged the two star Compact .40/.9mm title at the expense of runner-up Leonardo Lagahit. Oh doubled the feat by copping the mini-rifle crown over next two placers Ian Villamor and Chester Go.

Meanwhile, Mariboy Alejandro annexed the unclassified mix calibers title over Vince Lopez and Kristofer Go.

Retired Brig. Gen. Godofredo Rabara was hailed most distinguished senior shooter while Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief Vicente Danao, Jr. lorded over his rivals in the law enforcement category.

Mindanao Defensive Shooters Association, Inc. (MDSAI) president Leonardo S. Lagahit, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said the event is a gathering of gun enthusiasts who exhibit the values of companionship and camaraderie.

A total of 30 shooters joined the event that gave away medals and trophies to the winners.
