All set for SBC Kadayawan bowlfest

IT'S all systems go for the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) 29th Kadayawan sa Dabaw Open Tournament that will roll off on Tuesday, August 12, at the Fairlanes Bowling Center.

Games will also be played on August 14, 19, 21 and 23.

SBC board of director Emie Orteza, who guested at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the NCCC Mall B3 Center yesterday, said 20 teams are expected to compete.

"We are inviting Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to grace the opening ceremony of the tournament," Orteza said.

Teams will play eight games in the eliminations then the top four teams will advance to the step-the-ladder format finals.

The champion team will pocket a cash prize of P10,000 while the next three placers will take home P8,000, P6,000, and P4,000.

Registration fee is P1,000 per team including alley fees.

Orteza, meanwhile, also bared that elimination for the master's division is slated August 21.

Top bowlers will win P2,000 while the next two placers will get P1,500, and P1,000, respectively.

Special prizes will be awarded to the top individual average bowler, highest team points, highest individual points, and highest spinning. All of them will also receive cash prizes.

Defending champion Sassy Boys will try to defend its title. (KRP)
