DCWD 2 bowlers lead

THE Davao City Water District (DCWD)-2 paced the opening of the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) 29th Kadayawan sa Dabaw Open Tournament held at the Fair Lanes Bowling Center Tuesday evening.

DCWD-II, bannered by James Bardon, Tata Gorgonio, Danny Jumamoy, Jerson Tamayo and Bobby Fordaliza, totaled 1,142 pinfalls after two games in the annual bowlfest sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC).

SMA Eagles's SBC board of director Emie Orteza, Boying Magday, Chris Betonio, Danny Litao, Michael Pulgadas and Eddie Sagario garnered 1,135 pinfalls to place second while D'Who Car Spa came third with 1,120. The latter was bannered by Jojo Gonzaga, Fritz Barros, Boy Detuya, Kevin Dumlao and Jong Sales.

Trailing behind were Homer team (1,119) that was composed of Muktan Amsirabe, Paul Tengosia, Roy Amsirabe, Alex Alanunay, Sky Sajile and Nadz Amsirabe, D' Adventurers-II (1,117), MLC (1,107), Jonzlibz (1,097), Doverlanes (1,097), DCWD-I (1,089), Sassy Boys (1,082), Dover Ladies (1,075) and Petronas (1056).

SBC president Joe Torres, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said they' have been organizing this bowlfest for 14 years already.

"We want to instill the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship within our tournament," Torres said.

Torres, meanwhile, bared that this bowlfest will serve as a tune-up for Davao teams that will compete in the upcoming invitationals in Kidapawan and Iligan.

Elimination games will resume today. (KRP)
