ATENEO de Davao University's 11-year-old swimmer Zoe Marie Hilario struck for a total of nine gold medals and two silvers in the recently-concluded 2014 Milo Little Olympics held at the Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Complex in Cagayan de Oro City.

Hilario, who was the lone gold medalist for the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) swimming team in the 2014 Palarong Pambansa in Laguna, stamped her rivals in the girls 200-meter individual medley (IM), 400m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly and 50m butterfly events.

She got silvers in 100m breastroke and 50m breastroke having placed second to a Panabo City tanker.

"I feel so happy kasi I really want to qualify for the Milo nationals," said Hilario who competed in the regional qualifying for the first time.

She said, "It's not official but I think I won the most number of medals."

The Dabawenya ace, however, said she continues to train for the Batang Pinoy Mindanao elimination slated Sept. 10 to 14 in Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur.

Hilario will also lead the cast for the Ateneo team in the Mayor Rody and Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte Kadayawan Swimming Tournament on August 23.

Hilario trains two hours, four to five times a week and she has been reaping the fruits of her labor since the first competed and finished second over-all in an age-group tournament held sometime in 2008 at the Ladislawa Garden Village clubhouse.
