DAVAO City's Maiquel "Mikee" Jawn Selga bagged two titles at the close of the Davao 2014 Rail and Air Jam wakeboard and wakeskate competition held at Deca Wakeboard Park Davao in Brgy. Tacunan, Tugbok District over the weekend.

The multi-titled 14-year-old bested Manila bets Trisha Barbara and Alia Torre for the women's open wakeboard title. Selga annexed another title in junior ladies division.

Selga said the event served as the first stop of the Philippine Qualifier Series.

"Pag nag-overall champion ka kasi sa tatlong stops mag advance kasa Worlds so may dalawa pa akong sasalihang stops baka sa Metro Manila gagawin," Selga said in a Facebook chat with Sun.Star Davao on Monday.

The Stella Maris Academy of Davao standout, however, said she's ready to represent the country in the World event again should she make it through the two other qualifying stops.

Selga also topped the Arawng Dabaw Wakeboard and Wakeskate Competition last March. She got a silver for the Philippines in women's amateur event in the World Wake of Thrones at the Republ1c Wake Park in Nuvali, Laguna in November last year. (MLSA)
