"I have actually invited many clubs to grace the said event but so far clubs from Cagayan de Oro City, Tacurong, Panabo City and Davao del Sur have confirmed their participation to compete in the seniors, men's, women's and age group divisions," Tacay said in vernacular.

Tacay, on the other hand, bared that he's still waiting for the confirmation of clubs from Laguna, Mati and Tagum City.

He added, "Hindi na marami ang sasali na participants sa karate competition na ito kasi nagkataon na malapit na din ang Regional Batang Pinoy competition this coming September 10 to 15 na."

Cash prizes await winners. Seniors, men's and women's division champions will receive P500 and trophy while the next two placers will each go home with P300 and P200. Prizes of P300, P200, and P100 will allotted for the top three karateka winners in the age-group division.

Tacay, for his part, shared how thankful he was for NCCC for allowing them to use the venue for free.

"Thankful kayo ko sa NCCCC sa partnership kay gitabangan ko para madayon gyud ni nga event kay kung wala sila dili gyud ni mahitabo na event (I'm so thankful to NCCC Mall Davao for being the event's partner and for helping us in making this event possible)," Tacay added.

Davao City karatekas will be defending their respective titles in the said event.

The event is sponsored by NCCC Mall Davao and City Government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.
