THE biggest, grandest and most prestigious running event in the country will hold its 41st National Milo Marathon Davao leg on October 22 in an out-and-back course from SM Lanang Premier.
Davao race organizer Kenneth Sai, president of Vantage Sports Promotions, in a Facebook interview Saturday, September 16, said the annual footrace will again award cash prizes and trophies to top finishers in all categories as well as to the biggest school and company delegations.
"We will also be giving away shoes to two selected schools through the Help Give Shoes advocacy but the beneficiaries have yet to be determined," Sai said, adding that registration is ongoing for 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K.
The 3K route will begin at SM Lanang parking lot with turning point at Grand Regal Hotel while the 5K turning point is R. Castillo Streetwhile 10K will pass through Dacudao going to Buhangin and back to origin.
The 21K runners, meanwhile, will pass through C.P. Garcia Highway going to Jose Maria College and back.
Registration fees are P100 (students 3K/5K), P150 (adults 3K/5K), P750 (10K) and P850 (21K) inclusive of a singlet and race bib.
The 21K champions will each take home P10,000 and a trophy while the 10K titlists will pocket P5,000 each with medals.
The rest of the top 10 finishers in both 21K and 10K will also claim prizes along with the 5K and 3K top finishers.
