THE Offsourcing Philippines (OS) men and women spikers demolished their opponents in the resumption of the Davao Inter-BPO League (DIBL) Volleyball Tournament held at the Brokenshire Amphitheater over the weekend.
The OS men beat Iqor, 25-20, 25-16, to share the lead with Alorica after posting a 2-0 win-loss card.
The OS volleybelles, however, redeemed themselves from a debut loss by defeating Convergys, 25-17, 25-10, in the event officiated by Balibolista de Dabaw.
The OS men will face VXI on Sunday while the OS women will play against Sutherland.
OS women team captain Kimberly Jayne Cabe said the victory gave them more drive to be better.
"It boosted the team's morale and it made us want to practice more. Winning also gave us a new perspective on how we work as a team. It made us explore new strategies that might work to our potential," Cabe said, adding that everyone stepped up during the game.
The defeat against Alorica made them reassess their goal which was initially just to get physically fit.
"We took into consideration our investments: time, money and effort. We couldn't afford to fail the second time around, especially when our company supported us since we started. We talked about it, and we decided to do our best and win the league," Cabe said.
In other matches, Alorica thrashed Ibex Global, 25-7, 25-17, while Teleperformance thwarted Convergys, 25-12, 25-21.
VXI, meanwhile, recovered from a first set loss and beat Sutherland, 21-25, 26-24, 25-21.
Next BPO Solutions, for its part, survived a 22-25, 25-20,25-21 win over Ibex Global, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, as Iqor demolished Convergys, 25-16, 25-15.
The DIBL volleyfest will resume on Sunday at the same venue.
