AS DAVAO City takes on the bat in hosting the Alveo Ironman 70.3 this coming March 25, Sunrise Events Inc. announces the starting of registration on October 1 at the Seda Abreeza Hotel along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City.
Sunrise Events Inc. chairman and chief executive officer Wilfredo Uytengsu bared this in a press conference held at the City Hall Conference Room recently along with Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Ayala Land Inc. chief operating officer Aniceto Bisnar.
"Beginning October, we will have a registration breakfast at the Seda Hotel here in Davao and I think Mikey (Sports Development Division-City Mayors Office Mikey Aportadera) is going to work with our general manager where people will go and register for the event," Uytengsu said.
The registration is pegged at $275 or approximately P14,000.
The race will begin with a one-loop swim at the property development of Azuela Cove where they will go back for their first transition.
Participants will then exit onto the main highway to start the 90km bike course. The single-loop bike course will head all the way to the turnaround point in Tagum City and will head back to Azuela Cove for the second transition.
They should exit to J.P. Laurel Avenue towards the commercial district of Davao to complete the two-loop 21.1km run and finishing at the Azuela Soccer Field.
Some 1,000 participants from the Philippines and outside the country are expected to join the race and witness the beautiful fusion of nature and urban infrastructure Davao City has.
