DAVAO del Norte province and Tagum City pledged their support as they co-host the Sports, Socio-Cultural and Arts Festival formerly State College and University Athletic Association (Scuaa) slated October 26 to 29 in different venues.
Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario, Tagum City Vice Mayor Geterito Gementiza and Pasuc Region 11 president Dr. Irvin Generalao led the ceremonial signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) while sports coordinator Dr. Jose Alther Rivera, City Sports Development Officer of Tagum City Maria Virginia Obrero, Compostela Valley State College (CVSC) president Dr. Christie Jean Ganiera, Chancellor of University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep) Tagum Dr. Ben-Hur Rafosala and Usep Tagum associate dean Dr. Reynaldo Duran were also in attendance.
Rivera, in a phone interview with Sun.Star Davao, was elated by the support of the hosting city and province.
"Supportive kaayo ang Davao del Norte ug Tagum City since limited lang ang budget ng Pasuc and province ug city ang nag counterpart (Davao del Norte and Tagum are very supportive since Pasuc's budget is limited)," Rivera said, citing that the hosts will provide logistics, facilities and venue, medical needs, security and will help with all preparations.
Most games will be held at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex (DDNSTC) while others will be played at Usep Tagum and Tagum City Trade and Cultural Center Pavillion.
Governor Del Rosario, according to Rivera proposed, to host the national leg and offered a Palarong Pambansa template for the event.
