Miriam College bets joining track league

Friday, January 12, 2018

MIRIAM College tracksters will spice up the final leg of the 4th Blue Knights Track League (BKTL) that will kick off on January 27 at the Fr. Martinez Sports Center Track Oval, Ateneo de Davao University.

BKTL director Airnel Abarra, in yesterday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao, said the guest school from Quezon City will field 11 athletes who will give Mindanao-based runners tough challenge.

Abarra also expects 10 to 15 teams coming from Koronadal City, Kidapawan City and Davao City National High School (DCNHS) are among the tough contenders.

Abarra is confident that local runners could keep pace with highly-anticipated runners from the National Capital Region (NCR).

He said BKTL is a complementary avenue for existing events such as Davao City Athletic Association (Dcaa) and Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet, among others.

"We scheduled it before the Davraa Meet so that it will serve as a training ground for the runners on their upcoming bigger events," Abarra said.
The event will start at 6 a.m.
