Sun.Star bowlfest gets support

THE Davao City Water District (DCWD) and Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) threw their support to the Sun.Star Davao 15th Anniversary Bowling Tournament which rolls off at 3 p.m. on August 6 at the Dover Mega Lanes.
"We are thankful that the two major utility companies are backing us in this fellowship tournament aimed at fostering camaraderie among our employees," Sun.Star Davao Publishing Human Resource supervisor Vic Purgatorio said.

He said the Bureau of Customs, Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) president Emie Orteza and Dover Mega Lanes also confirmed to support the event organized in celebration of the paper's founding anniversary.
Purgatorio said employees have been grouped into four teams.
"The Green and Gray teams are entered in the men's division while Red and Blue teams will vie for the women's division crown. Teams in each category will play a four-game series where the team with the highest number of pinfalls will be declared champion," Purgatorio said.
Sun.Star Superbalita managing editor Ely Luciano leads the Gray team that will also parade the services of Purgatorio, Sun.Star Davao sports editor Charles Raymond Maxey, Alger Dura, King Rodriguez, Rian Geloca, Jeffrey Romero, Alex Rasonable, Arman Lagumbay, Zmeth Almonicar, Jed Mondabon, Victor Diones, Danny Permale, Jun Llanos, KC Alejandre, Maning Velasco and James Alicaya.
Green, meanwhile, is composed of news editor Nelson Bagaforo, Seth delos Reyes, Jet Encila, Wenz Mendoza, Leo Ocot, Daniel Sualog, Rene Fernandez, Bebot Gonzales, Dax Remetiera, Arjay Ligue, Noven Amar, Victor Adug, Fernando Mendez, Jessie Lowaton, Lester Campos, Macmac Getigan.
In the distaff side, general manager Tessie PaƱa and newsroom supervisor Donna Cuyos will lead the charge for the Red team. Beefing up the squad are Rhona Goc-Ong, Maan Laxa, Merlita Quimpang, Ligaya Maningo, Jennifer Lao, Todj Solamo, Suzette Lagrada, Irish Marcial, Irene Canoy, Baibes Salanga, Margie Abordo, Gieboy Cuizon and Marianne Saberon Abalayan.
Editor-in-chief Stella Estremera and accounting supervisor Lovella Panio head the Blue team also bannered by news editor Gigie Agtay, entertainment editor Ana Dulay, Cristina Alivio, Jade Zaldivar, Dina Parcon, Tonette Quintos, Osha Paglinawan, Joyce Ricarse, Rechelle Tangente, Yeng Lonceras, Chacha Tito, Jackie Lerazan and Melit Rosello.
Cash prizes await the team winners and highest individual scorers.
