A GRAND rally for Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro is slated Saturday in Davao City.
The rally will be attended by Teodoro with his running mate Edu Manzano, senatoriables and other guests who will show their support for him.
Earlier, Speaker Prospero Nograles Jr., who is seeking the mayoral post of Davao City, has expressed his intention to leave the party he once headed, only to flip-flop and said he remains with the party.
Taking this cue, the volunteers of Teodoro in the city, belonging to the groups Kabataan Galaw Tayo and Green Team 2010, have taken the lead in organizing what is to become the biggest political rally in southern Mindanao, without the support of local political candidates in Davao.
The rally is preceded by a motorcade to be participated in by thousands of supporters and volunteers from Davao City and the nearby provinces of Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley. It is expected to mobilize more than 300 vehicles.
With Nograles out of the picture, Teodoro's volunteers in the city said they are relieved and could now proceed with their campaign minus the baggage.
The rally, which will be held at Rizal Park, will feature a free concert of the award-winning youth rock band Rivermaya with G girls, Norman Nicerio, local bands from Davao City, and other surprise performers. (PR)
