"Finishing touches nalang. We don't see any problems occurring, we are right on schedule," Ali said in an interview Tuesday. The two projects are set to be completed within their 2009 December targets.
The P1.5 billion, 58-kilometer Talaingod-Bukidnon road will connect Davao del Norte's Talaingod municipality with Bukidnon's San Fernando town and is about 95.43% complete, Director Ali said.
With its completion, the road will serve as an alternate route from the present Davao Calinan-Bukidnon road and Agusan Davao Road.
While the 84-kilometer Manay to Boston section, part of the Surigao-Davao coastal Road program, is about 95.60% complete. According to Ali, it will also be finished on time by December.
The contractors were specifically instructed to follow a 24-hour, seven days a week (24/7) work schedule to be able to meet the target deadlines.
Ali said no less than President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will grace the inauguration of these two big-ticket projects, which are two of the President's infrastructure programs under her Super Regions plan, which she committed in her 2006 State-of-the-Nation Address. (PIA 11)
