Vice guv wants corporate governance

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Vice Governor Emmanuel Piñol said he will be proposing a concept on corporate governance in the province -- the first in the country.

Piñol said farmers who wish to be a member should just identify what they are capable of producing.

"I am proposing that the products from the province be brought to the big cities and distributed there. I have a concept for them to set up a food plaza where they can sell," Piñol said.

He wanted North Cotabato province to be the Number 1 producer of pork and chicken meat.

"Ang naisip ko na instead of having a big building, the piggery will just be in the backyards. This will be in a network and the province will also give them a "feed now, pay later" loan so they can start," he said.

This will also provide work for the new graduates and residents of the province.

He said funds will come from a standby loan of 1 billion from the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Moro residents were also urged to source for available raw materials. (RMH)
