YOU can never have enough visits to paradise.
The voyage done too often is underway once more but from Davao to Boracay, a new route will be taken. Diverting from the usual connecting flights from Durian City to the Capital City to Paradise Island traveling ala backpacker, the beach boy is doing via Cebu for the very first time. However, connecting flights is out of the question, a sleepover in Ce-boom country is a must.
What other place is more convenient than Waterfront Airport Hotel. It's a few steps from where you disembark from your plane and saves you the hassle of travel time if you opt to stay in the island across. GM Hembler Mendoza was gracious enough to welcome me and try their new suites.
Very welcome indeed even as I entered the posh hotel premises in my usual "minimalist attire," a travel-to-the-beach garb that is composed of the S's- shirt, shorts, sombrero and slippers. I was headed to a coastline after all.
Flip-flops are the staple footwear as I traverse airports to get to my destination, that assures me that I frolicking is limited to shorelines and not city streets. This time I am about to "feel the love" as I make my way to Boracay in my new Crocband Flip- one of the more than one hundred and twenty styles Crocs have come up with to date. These flip flops may have been born in Boulder, Colorado but I love everything Japanese. So I named my pair Gojira, after my all-time favorite Nippon character.
Gojira, my Crocband flip, is so retro! So modish! - the reason I feel in love with her. The look of this summer staple is totally different from the traditional Crocs we all know. She is slimmer and infused with techie features, she is style and substance rolled into one.
Opting for white (available in a wide range of colors) to go with whatever gear I don and it's immaculate at the sunny beach plus it's lightweight, odor-resistant, non-marking (all because of the brand's unique technology- closed-cell resin they call Croslite). Plus, circulation nubs on the foot bed stimulate blood flow making this pair a perfect companion for long walks. These tootsies are one of the million pairs of feet "feeling the love," the TLC that Crocs promises. My feet are truly in good hands so to speak.
Gojira is an ultimate Go Girl! Thus the "GO" word in her name. She goes where I take her, at any time, untiring. From sun adoration during the day at the White Beach to Bolabog Beach to Puka Beach, to sunsets along the beachfront of Asya II at Station 3, Aria in Station 2 or Kasbah in Station 1, to partying at night at Hey Jude, Summer Place or at Juice Bar, she tans, cruises and carouses like a true blue island girl.
Thanking the universe should be a daily routine. Yoga in the morning allows meditation and energizes the whole being as we become one within ourselves and the universe. Gojira joins me in True Yoga, the Boracay's must head to revitalize oneself. Nothing can be better than opening your heart with the tranquil waters and blue skies on your line of sight and the ocean's gentle refreshing breeze blowing gently on you. Nicole's Anusara Yoga (she's coming to town next month for a workshop) is my personal ultimate feel the love moment in the island and Gojira agrees.
Time is up and time to head back to my other home to Durian City. Hopped on the banca, tricycle, airplane, coaster and cab once more and traversed the Visayas to Mndanao in a single foot gear, my Crocband Flip aka Gojira. Wow, that was quite a really comfortable trip, like wearing nothing actually, on my feet, is. Maybe you should grab a pair.
(To feel the love, get into a pair of Crocs that will fit your lifestyle from the Crocs Boutique at the second floor of SM, Oak & Acorn at the Plaza del Carmen at Loyola Street, Obrero or from your favorite shopping destination.)
