Young man sued for rape

CHARGES have been filed against a man accused of raping a woman, whom he earlier offered a ride to, at Ciudad de Esparanza in Buhangin, Davao City, in January.

Charged was Denver Icao Regencia, 24, who hails from Dipolog City and is a transient resident of Mineral Village in Bajada, Davao City, after prosecutor Gaye Cañete Magdagasang recommended the filing of charges based on the accounts of the victim.

The woman was with her co-workers just after their bar closed around 2:30 a.m. of January 21 when they decided to go to Bonguyan Beach Resort.

Regencia arrived on a taxi and offered her a ride, but instead of bringing her to Bonguyan Beach, she was brought to an abandoned two-storey house in Buhangin instead where she was raped twice.

The man dropped her off San Pedro Street at 7 p.m. of the same day.

No bail was recommended for the respondent's temporary liberty.
