CEBU City Division collected at least 80 gold medals from the different events in the ongoing 2009 Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) meet held in Dumaguete City, Sibulan and Tanjay City, all in Negros Oriental.
Records showed that Cebu City Division has first gathered 16 gold medals from the different categories in the swimming events held at the Lorenzo Teves Memorial Aqua Center in Dumaguete City.

Jessie Ariola of Cebu City Division gathered gold medals from 400-meter freestyle and 200-meter IM. His co-delegate, Seth Melendez, also gathered gold medals from 200-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke.
Paula Abegail Vega, also of Cebu City, won gold medals from 200-meter freestyle and 400-meter freestyle for secondary category.
The division also won gold medals from taekwondo, long jump, badminton, table tennis, arnis and others games.
Aside from the gold medals, Cebu City Division also got 50 silver medals and 50 bronze.
The Dumaguete City Division, meanwhile, ranked number two in terms of gold medal standing.
It gathered 21 gold medals from swimming, taekwondo and other events. It also gathered 20 silver medals and 20 bronze.
The Divisions of Mandaue City and Bohol both have 16 gold medals.
Bohol also won 18 silver medals and 13 bronze, while Mandaue gathered five silver medals and 15 bronze.
The Division of Cebu Province got 10 gold medals, 23 silver and 14 bronze, while Lapu-lapu City won 11 gold medals, nine silver and 12 bronze.
Negros Oriental Division, meantime, has won two gold medals, nine silver, and ten bronze. (VLC)
