Degamo turns 47 in good health-A A +A
Tuesday, April 30, 2013
GOVERNOR Roel Degamo celebrated his 47th birthday Monday in good health.
Gov. Degamo told Sun.Star that his greatest birthday gift from God is good health.
Another special gift for him, he said, is the support of the people.
Degamo explained that based on surveys from the independent firms, results show that he gains the support of the majority against his opponents Negros Oriental first district Representative Jocelyn Limkaichong and former Finance Secretary Margarito Teves.
He, however, failed to mention the survey firms.
But the number of friends who trooped to his house in Barangay Junob, he said, will show how he gained the support from the people.
He also considered as birthday gift the success of the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa 2013.
Degamo also lauded his wife Janice who sponsored 750 pack meals for the 470 patients at the Negros Oriental Hospital and 280 prisoners and jail guards at the Negros Oriental Detention and Rehabilitation Center (NODRC).
For him that is one among the greatest gift he received during his birthday.
Janice, on the other hand, said the funding for the 750 pack meals are coming from her personal savings to pursue the governor’s birthday motto: “The Secret of Blessing is sharing!”
She said the governor did it for a long time even before Degamo was still served as member of the Provincial Board.
Degamo before elected as member of the Provincial Board in the 3rd district in 2010, he served as PB member being the federation president of the Philippine Councilor’s League, Negros Oriental chapter.
When ask about his birthday wishes, the governor said wishes are to continue to serve the people of Negros Oriental and to provide what the people really needs for a change and for the better. (Victor L. Camion)
