EDUCATION Secretary Jesli Lapus personally opened the Central Visayas Regional Atheltic Association (CVIRAA) meet 2009 held at Governor Perdices Coliseum in Dumaguete City Monday afternoon.

The opening rite was attended by 8,500 delegates from the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, and cities in Central Visayas to play 17 events for secondary level and another 15 events for the elementary level.

New cities in Central Visayas like Carcar also joined the event, except the cities of Bogo, Naga in Cebu and Guihulngan in Negros Oriental.

A delegation from Guihulngan, however, joined in the Negros Oriental delegation.
