Legislators scrutinize 6-year Capitol development plan

THE Provincial Board (PB) of Negros Oriental is scrutinizing a six-year Capitol development and physical framework plan to "harmonize both the executive and legislative approaches".

In submitting the plan to the PB, Governor Emilio Macias II wrote that it was a product of several consultations and public hearings in the three congressional districts of the province.

Macias said the plan emphasizes the core elements, which include population, economy, physical resources, income, access to services and land use.

Earlier, the Provincial Development Council (PDC), whose members include the chief executives of the towns and cities in Negros Occidental, also deliberated the plan.

Macias, who chairs the council, said that planning teams were sent to the different localities in the province to get wider involvement from the public regarding the outcome of the development and physical framework plan.

Vice Governor Baldado also said that the legislative body he heads carries the objective of rational utilization of the natural and physical resources of the province.

Baldado said the review may be out by the first week of January next year. (EBS)
