State-run university prexy to join politics

THE president of a state-run university in Dumaguete City will join politics in 2013.
Dr. Henry Sojor, president of the Negros Oriental State University (Norsu) confirmed Monday that he will seek a government position in May 2013 elections. He, however, refused to reveal what party he will join.
Aside from incumbent Governor Roel Degamo, former finance secretary Margarito Teves and Representative Jocelyn Limkaichong (first district, Negro Oriental) will also seek for gubernatorial position the coming elections.
Teves earlier announced that incumbent Vice Governor Apolinario Arnaiz Jr. will be his running mate. Dr. Ricky Macias, son of the late governor Emilio Macias II, will be Limkaichong’s the running mate.
Degamo, on the other hand, said that former governor Jose Baldado will be his running mate.
But Baldado, in a separate interview, said that he is yet to decide of what position to seek.
